personally I think that's silly and either way is fine but if I had to guess I'd say it's because in fandom spaces yaoi is generally WAY more popular, even when the male and female characters are equally interesting/shippable. so when you already have a lot less fic/art of gl ships it can be frustrating to see them genderbent to make more male cha......   reply

how does this come up so often and no one ever brings up that authors have a page limit? genshin fandom is just pretty notorious for being huge + a decent proportion of younger/teen fans and therefore having a LOT of drama over things like shipping where they have to have a moral reason for not liking a ship.
