I.. Don't know how we went from normal to absolute psycho with ML towards the end there but ok.. ╮(￣▽￣)╭ I actually thought his character was well-written for majority of the story. And the way he would talk, too. He'd express his thought processes earnestly and would word them very well. That total switch in personality did him dirty imo and robbed him of the interesting qualities that he originally had. For example, his attachment issues and anxiety made total sense due to the environment and family dynamics he grew up with, but he was also head-strong despite all that and pushed through his complications. Until towards the ending of the plot, that is. But oh well, still a pretty good read story-wise by majority of Yaoi's standards (excluding some of the absolute gems ofc). To say that I didn't enjoy the story would be a lie but yeah, the last 20 chapters or so caught me pretty off-guard.
