I love the romance in this but why are they glossing over all of the politics because I can't just ignore it when its part of their entire lives ??? Every meeting they have is about the war and how they're adjusting the soldiers around but they are so vague about it. Notable things that they literally never explain:
- Brill was just going to comit mass genocide and Leah would've been okay with it if Roxant was too - was this going to be against the radicals or all Prussians bc it was a bit unclear
-Olga said that hound executed her son and husband - were they part of the war or were they civillians because I think that would completely change my perspective
-The radicals are insane but are they representative of all the Prussians rn ( it was said that prussia is split into many tribes anyways so they might not even have a proper government system, just Anjay leading them ???)
-What is the war even about bc anjay apologised but literally for what?? Attacking the opposing sides war general doesn't really seem like something to apologise for when you're in the middle of a war but ig theyre friends now so I'll let that slide.
Idk if the prequel explains all this so lmk if it does. Also if anyone has a link to the prequel that'd be great because I actually can't find it anywhere

I hate the idea that caring about looks automatically means you're a shitty, superficial person. They keep on calling the princess shallow but caring about your appearance and wanting a grand birthday isn't the princess being bratty or selfish, it's just something that is enjoyable for her obviously and was probably expected from the crown princess as well.
The princess didn't know that having fireworks would compromise the castle's safety and her not studying is the fault of her brother and his retainers as well. The princess is sheltered at worst but other than that she seems reasonable for the most part and willing to learn. It really is the adults around her that have failed at educating her properly and coddled her. How is she meant to know about the state of the world tree if she was never educated, not everyone just studies for fun and I assume she always knew that her brother would never include her in politics. This is an assumption, but people around you thinking you're useless or dumb and having no expectations from you really demotivates you and maybe that is something that the princess experienced and just accepted (I know i'm reaching a little).
Also Damien is the worst. I get not coddling the princess but he is intentionally picking a fight istg. Out of all of the characters so far he seems to be the most selfish. Not once has he ever thought about the princess' feeling both in terms of her desire to marry him and get her brothers heart back from the demon king. He has no tact and don't give me that tough love bs, it only makes people stunt their emotions and traumatised of doing things incorrectly. There's a difference between being firm and just being an asshole.
**Spoilers**
I dislike the fact that she is going to end up with Damien. The dude made her feel uncomfortable for years because of an engagement because of his own issues and really gave no shits when she was so close to marrying that carrot head prince. Sybil has his own issues but he's doing a much better job at being decent. (being the demon king is a kind of a plus imo)
So much happened plot wise but I feel like I don't know anything about the characters? Like at this point the most compelling character for me was Lerry and he isn't even one of the main leads. Also how the hell did Claudia get side lined in her own story - her only character trait is being weirdly obsessed with the mc even though in the beginning she was set up to be so interesting, having to deal with 3 psycho men while being in the public eye.
Hey, at least the art was good( ̄へ ̄)
It's honestly Irene's story though. Claudia shows up well for vital areas of the plot like having an elemental, saving the people during the demon break, and as the empress (which Irene gave to free her from the 2d pathetic FL she was meant to be in the OG). And Lerry is an appendage to Felix, so he's like the 2nd lead if anything, literally vital to the story from beginning to end.
