It was actually crazy how much I needed to hear that talk in ch 47... As a person who is well into their journey to be a math teacher, and finding myself struggling so much more in my upper division courses at university, I have literally never felt like the most shit for not being able to solve the math problems these other guys do. It's been a hard journey for me to continue wanting to teach in this field. Seeing that my struggle is ultimately going to connect with students who struggle like I do, it was just the kind of message a needed to hear, so close to my graduation, to continue wanting to teach math. A wonderful read! :)
As a student who's had to teach others in math there's definitely more of a connection to those who have struggled the same way you do, wishing you the best in your journey, keep going (≧▽≦)!!
Adding my 2 cents as I am a math teacher right now! The kids definitely appreciate someone who can lift them up more than someone who’s really smart. There are plenty of times where I didn’t know the answer to a students question and had to be like lol let me look into that and get back to you, and even though I’ve felt embarrassed, most kids really don’t mind. As long as you are going in there with your best intentions, you’re going to do great. Good luck!
