i love the leads of this story so much ;;;; especially abigail! she's consistently been a headstrong woman who knew her boundaries and never once dipped in chara, she's never entered that "annoying fl" trope at all. at first i had my reservations about sabelian, but seeing him actively try to mend his relationship with both wife and child now, despite the trauma he experienced, is slowly making him endearing ㅠㅠ AND BLANCHE, our cutiepie!! just seeing her in a chapter is enough to send me into a cooing mess ㅠㅠ
Quite frankly I didn't think him having to do more than non victims is what I needed to witness before I thought he could be endearing.
tbf i posted this comment from my perspective – sabelian DID come off as brusque and a tad bit annoying to me at the beginning, with how he treated abi and blanche ╮(￣▽￣)╭ this was before the reveal of his past btw! now that the webtoon has shed light on things, most (if not all) readers have a better understanding on why he went about things the way he did, hence my post. i have no qualms if you found his redeeming qualities earlier than i did, though! i don't hold anyone's views against them uwu
He treated Blanche that way because he didn't want her to be soft like he was and have something traumatic happen to her, he was coming from a good place. All he actually did was ignore her. And he had every right to treat Abigail like that. Let's not forget that the OG Abigail forced herself onto him many times and always disrespected his personal space. He even told her that there would be no love or touch in their relationship. She was warned. Now of course we know that there is a different person in her body now, he doesn't. So of course he wouldn't change how he treats her the second her behavior changes because that's just unrealistic. Also, OG Abigail was the type to change to gain his trust so he wouldn't just trust her immediately.
Although another poster has got me believing that maybe by ignoring her he also ignored what OG Abigail did to her. While I believe that he is coming from a good place - meaning that he thinks it would actually be (more) traumatic for her down the line if he treats her with affection - I'm just thinking that if he was ignoring what Abigail did to Blanche he's gone a bit beyond the simple ignorance I also first thought he was just acting out.
