Oh, he does, because Dane himself is a problematic character, and a lot of the readers suffered along with Grayson at some point ( that's no joke, I read it live and saw on facebook how a bigger spanish speaking group ( there were very good summaries) reacted to the chapters lol). And Dane will suffer, too. So there is suffering, while actually in large parts the story has comedic vibes thanks to Grayson.
