First, beautiful artwork, it is insanely good! But, I just felt icky reading it... like Seungho slammed Na-Kyum's face into the ground, took advantage of him when he was drunk, has hit him several times, threatened to kill him if he leaves, and so many people are still rooting for them. No, dude. Just, no. All of a sudden he's "nice" to Na-Kyum, and everyone forgets all of those things he did. He's a physically abusive r*pist... I genuinely hope no one condones that. (Also, I see people comparing it to Killing Stalking and trying to justify Seungho's actions by saying "at least it's not as bad as KS". Even if it's not as violent as KS, none of the stuff Seungho did to Na-Kyum is remotely ok either.) I went into this thinking it would be a romance, and it's more of a tragedy, poor little Na-Kyum baby.... I weep.

noone is trying to justify him and yes we all know what he did buuuut the fact is that before he met Namkyun he was really terrible and didnt give a shit about hurting people,i dont know why he became so heartless ......it wasnt even sudden,Seungho is the type who doesnt say what he means, still i think he regrets what he did and is trying to be better and i think that isnt impossible

No one is saying his actions are correct. But i will say that everyone that reads a story would always root for the plot for a grey area villain that still have good in his heart to change his ways.

There were a couple of people trying to say that Seungho was just acting that way because of past trauma and that they should still end up together, or something like that, and ultimately I think that's still no excuse. I want to know why Seungho became that way also, and want him to change. I believe people can change, but I just really don't want them to end up together, after all that he has done to Nam-Kyun...

In many manga and manhwa there are rape scenes. What do you think about these scenes? I've been reading a lot of yaoi and it seems like there is an abundance of rape depictions, and a lot of users have been kind of fetishizing those scenes.

Personally, I really don't enjoy scenes like this, and really wish we would stop perpetuating the sexualization of rape. I have seen so many people that enjoy these kinds of scenes on this website and I'm a little confused.

If you enjoy these kinds of scenes, I genuinely want to know what draws you to them. If you don't enjoy these scenes, I would love to know why also.

I’m fine with rape scenes in some manga as long as the character who was raped gets their justice, or the one who raped him was the seme and it was an act of sincere love cuz’ I do love the obsessive seems though.

    Seme’s*, not seems lol.

    2 + 2 = 5 May 1, 2020 5:28 am

Personally I've always found these scenes really uncomfortable and gross. Obviously there are ways to include rape in a story that isn't disgustingly oversimplified and I don't mind if they portray it right, but I see no reason to get off on depictions of it. Pornographic depictions of sexual abuse, even if fictional bother me a lot, so I for the most part hate seeing them in works and am pretty critical of their depiction... though that being said, I can't tell other people what they should or shouldn't read, and what they shouldn't write. So I don't really care that it exists or people read it, but I find it really gross. That's just me thoughhh

    hoes unite May 1, 2020 5:29 am

Also, the aggressiveness in the rape is kind of my thing? I’ve always been one for aggressive sex stuff because it’s way more erotic. In the end if the abuser isn’t the male lead, It always leaves me with a bitter feeling in my heart.

    rosie May 1, 2020 5:30 am

I dislike it. It doesn't make me feel particularly good in any way, almost like a crappy feeling? There's lots of discussion about this topic under many mangas & webtoons.

    bard May 1, 2020 5:35 am

if it's a driven factor for the couple to get into a relationship then no. rape is always glossed over when it's used as a plot device for romantic purposes

    Mikhail May 1, 2020 5:36 am

I hate any type of rape, cuz it’s rape. I’ll still read some stories with it though, because it ADDS to the story- so like if it’s not sexualized rape and the uke or seme gets revenge, I think it’s an important part of the story. If it’s just there to fetishize rape I think it needs to stop(does this make sense? Lol it’s almost 2am and I’m tired)

I agree with you. I only accept it if its out of love or forgive and forget. But I can not stand when it's a way to get back at someone or if a random character is intoduces to rape the mc. It angers me and makes me too sad and I always end up dropping it.

    DNNS May 1, 2020 5:53 am

I absolutely hate. I still hold the rapist accountable no matter. Even if out of love or whatever shitty excuse there is to justify there actions. However i became numb to it, i haven't come to accept because it disgusting every sent of the word but i wont let that ruined a good story for me. Will i be disappointed, disgusted? Absolutely. But will i stop reading? No.

Even if it was an act of "love" by the seme, do you think that it's right for them to have taken advantage of the uke if they're expressing that they didn't want it to happen? I just feel like the seme could be obsessive in other ways, like consensual BDSM, or if its for punishment for the uke, then something else (I dunno like fuckin spank him or something lol). Rape scenes just make me feel icky, and to take something like that from someone, even when they've said no, it just doesn't sit well with me, even if it's out of "love".

    nana May 1, 2020 6:30 am

I hate the rape scenes where the uke struggles, cries, and continues screaming no while being visibly upset & the seme says bs like "that only makes me want you more" or whatever. But I don't mind the scenes where the uke says no but makes it clear that he DOES want the seme & the seme confirms it.

    shortshort May 1, 2020 6:51 am

I like it if it's realistic... Violence and sex is something that turns on many people. Just look atany major porn site. nonconsensual setups are the norm. Also, bdsm is just the civilized version of it.

    fairybloss May 1, 2020 7:04 am

i think it depends on the context in which you're reading it. i don't like depictions of deliberate rape but a lot of times when the uke/seme say "no" or "stop"/etc, it's part of japanese culture to be humble and subtle, especially when it comes to h-stuff. usually the times they say "no" or "stop" they don't actually mean it. then again, there's a distinct line between this and it being deliberate rape. it just depends on what you like/dislike and how you interpret the scene (=・ω・=)
