ahh, this reminded me back in elementary school when i was the only asian kid there. i was often picked on for being asian which made me doubt myself, this chapter felt relating in a way.
maybe taehwan was sexually assaulted by a gay man which caused his homophobic tendencies? he would hurt them instead of him being hurt which gives him a sense of justice in his opinion.
