This whole story has this lingering eerie feeling, there’s a lack of warm romance so it’s odd. It’s interesting though I’m enjoying it (?)

I also agree with this!! Although I feel like it’s a good change, I’m usually used to stories with a lot going on but this is also nice! It feels like I’m simply reading the everyday life of someone and accompanying them along their journey :D hm I don’t know how to word it properly but while in other comics the fiction is obviously present, this one feels like something that could actually happen in real life, i think that’s why it’s odd, it’s also not too overwhelming but still interesting in its own way! And the warm romance part, i believe it’s because Satomi doesn’t really display a lot of emotion after growing up. You can tell by his lack of interest on a lot of things and the fact he keeps a serious face most of the time. I like to think that he’s getting used to the feeling first, that’s why the lack of “warmth”, if this is really going the BL route I feel like he’ll start to display more expressions later on when the feelings intensify. ^^ Plus we can’t be sure whether he really likes Kyouji or not because maybe he just said that so his friends would drop the topic.

Same! The pace of this story is a lot more realistic, very much captures the real life feeling of distance. The odd encounters of the manga artist, the part-time job and lying on the floor all seem life how we all live life. The lack of warmth I feel keeps us engaged too, perhaps it’s just a way to show that this feeling is new to Satomi. I’m interested to see where it goes too especially after the recent development of him realising he actually likes him.

Really tried to read this one but there’s no flow and no chemistry??? The plot doesn’t make sense either, 30+ year old prosecutor picks up 17 year old based on feeling sorry, no flirting or chemistry, bangs when he turns 18 and no communication?

That's the thing. It's their flaws. They had to go through several turmoil to actually be able to communicate well especially for Jiho. And yea the whole turning 18 and having sex seemed weird to me too at first until I decided to finish it and it was one of the best reads I've read this year. Their story and struggle becomes much more than that fact. Chemistry? You'll see it in the later chaps

Do you not feel like it’s predatory? I only read to chap 17 i think and even if ml seems really nice it just feels weird that he’s attracted to this kid (even if he becomes legal age soon). Like is that really necessary for the plot or could he have picked up a 25 y/o and still have the same communication development?

To me, it was. Jiho was a guy who had violent intents and dreamt about killing ppl. And Woojung wasn’t a just person either. He just loved Jiho. That's all. Even later in the chapters he admitted that as well. Because without that fact, Woojung character was oddly kind and caring towards Jiho which kind of gave the impression he's perfect but he's not and just as flawed as Jiho. And they both complete each other. I understand tho to some It's uncomfortable but if you kinda ignore that moment, all they have is love for each other. It was amazing for me

I think perhaps it was just not the read for me. I’ve read quite a few twisted romances, but I think I just couldn’t get into or feel the flow of this story. Woojung’s character didn’t seem developed enough for me to understand his attraction to a minor, and thus I just didn’t feel the chemistry in the whole story. Wish I could’ve read it like you to be honest ( ̄ε(# ̄)Σ

I’ll give it another read in a few weeks for sure (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ don’t think I’m in the read head space recently. I don’t think the story was toxic though, compared to a lot of stories now, just psychological. At the end I think I just expected some more romance. But I hope you have good reads too~ have a good weekend <33
