the scene in the novel was frustrating but holy hell. i did not think a worse version of it could be done. not only did kael's actions NOT been given more thought and communication, they also nerfed Hess' reaction and monologue to make it seem like a tantrum brought on by emotion instead of a slowly building dread throughout the whole deposed debacle.
i can perfectly understand why people in the comments would react the way they do given how this scene was handled & would probably type more if I didn't see chapter 107 at 1am but oh my god. oh my god i need....
i need to cleanse my palette first by reading a series with an ML that understands the importance of consequences and catharsis
