he never loved her. he has never once out himself in her shoes and cared about what she thought. he most likely knew she was not welcomed and harassed, that nobody treated her like a duchess. that those affairs he actually had would worsen her reputation within her household.
he knew she had trauma and that she was scared of his dumb ass dog, but never put that dog away to keep her controlled. he knew she feared him but never tried to make her feel comfortable. he practically would force himself on her every month and never showed any form of care afterwards - like why not use that time to at least show that you care about her?? since youre already 100% set on using contraception and not allowing her to have a child?? which she says is needed and is ruining her reputation (since people judge her for not having an heir within those 7 years)....like sleeping with her until morning would have made her feel a bit more secure...
instead of acting completely different in this lifetime and making amends for his actions, he continous to threaten her life like a parasite. he wants to control her without working for any LOVE or AFFECTION that she could still have for him. he's selfish and a manipulator and only cares about himself.
so tell me why you would want this narcissistic sociopath to have her? you guys are either 8 and lacking intellectually or mentally ill because supporting an abuser is crazy
