The conversation they had summed up who they are. They both saw each other's point of view and self reflected on their actions. They both apologized for it and they came to the conclusion that they do care for each other and they both have issues and time will help ease them. They do want to be together and I just think that's lovely. Having this conversation at his mom's funeral is kinda fitting because she is a focal point in them getting closer to each other. They met with her and they talked things through with her (if that makes sense....). The self awareness that they both have will help them to really make the relationship work. Imagine is mc didn't know how frustrating he was and didn't want to put in the work to change??!!! I would have dropped~~ but instead we have realistic characters who want to pursue each other romantically and make it last AND IT EATS!.....I may or may not love angst lolol
