this could be so good if it just focused on jesse and andy. joel and chase's relationship is a disgusting relationship between shitty people. chase was a little creep and joel is ten times worse. hes creeping on his sons peer while judging his son for being gay. he's a horrible dad, giving all his love and care to chase and going as far to call his own son his enemy. joel doesnt deserve his son's love. he deserves prison :v
so. i already said something here, but good lord I decided to reread it all at once instead of in pieces like with my first read and it is so much *worse* than i remember. i know the people on this website tend to eat up any sort of bl they can find and rate it and praise it highly specifically because of the fact that it's well, gay. but god this story could very much do without the second couple. its super creepy for so many different ways and it only feels *worse* after the second read. age gaps are already iffy for me, but this is edging on a criminal offense. the comic makes an effort to point out how bad the teacher creeping on students is, but somehow chase and joel is an okay relationship? no thank you. its gross. chase and joel are probably two of the most unlikeable characters ive ever seen in a webtoon/manga/etc in like. a while. the relationship between them is gross. chase is manipulative and also a huge creep. joel is a creep who preys on someone the age of his son. he's also a super shitty dad. nothing jesse does is good enough, he doesn't even try to understand his own son, but this random ass kid? somehow he likes him??? i don't get it. anyway. yeah. once again, the whole thing coulda been kinda good if there wasn't chase and joel as a side couple.
