got back into hxh after 5 whole years, and i just finished reading the succession war arc. why... does everything have to be so confusing. every other chapter i would have to google something. i love togashi, i love the way he writes, but its so much dialogue that so much of the main premise gets destroyed. i hope that once this arc gets finished and animated (if this gets finished and animated- i know the chance is slim) that it'll clear up a lot of this unnecessary dialogue. i also hope togashi focuses on leorio, he's one of the main characters and yet he's gotten the least focus out of anyone. i understand he's often supposed to be used as a gag character, but i love him :(( i hope they explore kurapika's relationship with him too, and that the focus eventually gets shifted to his main goal, though i predict that'll take a long time... anyways atp im just yapping. i actually like this arc a lot!
god this is so conflicting. i love love loveddd this story but timeskips are such a cheap plot progression tactic imo. there's a billion other things you could've done but you had to go with the most basic one that EVERYONE else does. i keep forgiving authors who do timeskips because "maybe it'll get better later" but it NEVER does. it's always the same misunderstanding, timeskip, brief makeup, back into the relationship, then another misunderstanding and then permanent relationship. i really thought this one would be different. i'll keep reading cause i really do love the art style but the timeskip really pissed me off bad. i wish bl manwha authors found a new tactic for plot progression. like WHY 4 years SPECIFICALLY? it doesn't add to the emotional appeal, it's just confusing. and so many years as well? ugh i don't mean to complain i just really dislike when authors do this.
