y'all we still don't know about guwons origins but he definitely isn't human; he doesn't seem to know how the world/society works and he doesn't understand basic concepts (the "doctor" actually being a vet/teach isn't even a teacher but he doesn't know the difference) like he's so innocent ?? i think the villagers know this and take advantage of it bc he only keeps people he believes are useful. he says it's his duty/purpose to protect the village and maybe following those rules is all he knows(?) like i don't think he knows changing the rules is an option because it could cause issues and create problems for the village he's suppose to protect so he goes with whatever the villagers say. he didn't want to kill the man and even punished himself first but to him it didn't seem like he had a choice? everyone in the village follows the rules and breaking them has consequences so he's doing his duty as the protector
