I almost dropped this after him going to his home town (ch 43-45) because I was so pissed off. Not only was the mom's death predictable, it was also meaningless.
As soon as he went through the portal, I knew all he would see would be a grave. Why? Because all good parents in anime/manga/ etc are dead. But what's worse is that her death was meaningless. Ell already thought he would never see her again, so her permadeath did nothing for character development. He didn't even reflect on happy memories either. He didn't go into the house, he didn't walk around the neighborhood, and he didn't share memories with the neighbor. He just moped one day and then never thought about her again. Ugh.
I think it would have been better to keep her alive, so that he could go back and forth between the two worlds and tell her (and the neighbor) all about his silly adventures. Or.. you know... bring her back with him and add her to the rest of the cast.

My question is: did he win the final bet against the balance?! I'm assuming yes when Ditrian accepted going to the world of the dead, but I want to seeeee it! I wanna see the balance admit defeat!
Forgive me while I rant about the ending, but I need to get it off my chest. Ch 114 to the end made absolutely no sense to me. I'm not talking about how some chapters are out of order. I'm talking about the plot.
1. Aiden was way too pathetic at the end. For being super "strong", he did squat. He didn't use magic at all while fighting his father- only swatting him. Like aren't dragons supposed to use magic????? That's like trying to punch someone that has a gun. It's fine that he lost- he was fighting a mental battle with his abuser. But at least have the battle be less one-sided...
2. Wendy broke the contract and got a new one. I understand her reason for breaking the contract, but right then, at that time?????? She knew Aiden was fighting in a LIFE OR DEATH battle with his father, and yet she distracted him and broke his heart? And she did the exact same thing that she got mad at Aiden for. She got mad at him for not telling her about the contract and giving her a choice, and then she turns around and breaks the contract without telling him. The hypocrite. And then she was talking about not wanting to be a weakness to him and use the strength of a human, and then she uses the strength of a dragon anyway.... I don't really understand why she made a contract with Juliet.
3. Wendy got to the battle way too fast. Aiden traveled like a week to meet his father. And then they started to confront each other while Wendy met Eli. Eli gave the group 4 days to prepare, they fought him, Wendy broke the contract, and then appeared in the fight. That means that Aiden and his father were staring at each other for like a week? For it being a LIFE OR DEATH battle, they seem to have been pretty relaxed. And how did Wendy even get there????? Did she teleport into a dragon's lair (that's supposed to have all kind of protective barriers and junk) that she didn't even know the location of? Alone? The whole thing didn't make sense.
This wasn't at the end, but why was Simone third-wheeling the whole time? I understand when they were in a group and fighting the slave traffickers. But why was he constantly getting involved with the couple? Like let them fight it out and work it out themselves. He did that at least two times. Stop third-wheeling. ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ

from what i know, it should be mid/late 30s or early 40s
- they married in their early 20s, that marriage itself lasted for 4-6 years
- 2 years for their divorce (before the war)
- war is kinda ambiguous how long it takes (unless i didn’t read it properly), but around 4 years (due to chloe’s age jumping 2 to 6)
- 5 years of peace + 1 year later remarriage
so it should be around: 36-42
most likely leaning on the lower side
but thats just my interpretation? there might be a confrimation on specific dates ive missed (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
