Jadeswan created a topic of Blue Name Pressure

So I think what we have here is a very annoying miscommunication setup… if I’m reading this right, the game has ended. ML is putting up boundaries because he genuinely thinks MC has tapped out. MC brought him another named person, and ML thought ‘because they’re fated, shouldn’t MC fight against this?’ ML was initially testing this fated lovers thing out, but for him, it fizzled to an end because MC didn’t react as expected or he thinks MC set this up in the first place (makes sense why he said ‘what a pointless ending’). SO HERE, his stupid experiment probably ended.

ML will likely reveal everything to MC next, and MC will be pissed af because why for no reason was he put through shit emotional roller coaster - all this for an experiment? Extra pissed if Ryu actually thinks he was working with the scammer (girl likely had the name tattooed) Don’t forget that one of ML’s keywords when this manhwa started was ‘#후회공 / regret’ so I think this will probably kick off a chasing arc where ML's feelings for MC will be explored for the first time. As the poster below me said, we had this for MC, but none for ML’s side.

I actually believe THIS IS THE REAL RYU, one who’s not afraid to cut people off. He’s not the Prince Charming people claimed him to be nor did he profess to be one, which is why he doesn’t actually have close friends in the first place.Ngl I desperately need them to make out and fuck, but Ryu needs to BE HUMBLED and grovel first before they do.

OMG YES A NEW CHAPTER I was just sobbing over a tragic otome webnovel but it’s ok now coz I’m ready for dicks

Jadeswan created a topic of My Beloved Oppressor

I’m at chapter 63, read the whole thing in one go, and I had to TAKE A BREAK because this manhwa nearly fucking ended me with how much crying I did, that I had to take MEDS because I had a headache from all the sobbing.

I went from hating Heiner to supporting him completely. This is a testament to the fantastic character development both MC and ML had. Every raw emotion laid out in the chapters, oh I felt it. I’m glad I gave it a chance because I actually dropped it once before in early chapters because I couldn’t stand ML.

As a Seol fan, I’m screaming over the last two chapters. And omg Guys, I’m freaking TF out at this plot twist. Was SEOL the Childhood friend the whole time??? I thought it was Kang Miro but both kid and SEOL HAS THE SAME HAIR COLOR. If the kid was SEOL, then it’ll explain WHY HIS BEHAVIOUR BACK IN KINDY WAS SO SHITTY HELP

Edit: Seol wtf is up with that fugly shirt

Jadeswan created a topic of Resetting Lady

This is one of the best FL time loop novels I’ve read this year. I HAD TO TAKE A BREAK from reading other stuff for a bit because of this lol. If you think Raymond is just your typical boring blond ML, hahaha no. Man can be deranged, BROKEN AND RAW - this is what happens when you lived for 7000 years. He is ON CARYNNE’S FREQUENCY (freak level too, maybe EVEN MORE sdlfjfkkjd) and this is not only grounding Carynne but actually giving her HOPE for the very first time. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING that they do is for each other’s sake. As for Dulan, I blame the manhwa for making him a bit depressingly good looking. Dude is 100% a piece of shit and is the source for everything that went wrong for Carynne. I swore a few of my blood vessels burst because of him.

Go and read the novel, it’s almost completely translated and beautifully done too : https://www.novelupdates.com/series/resetting-lady/ It has 4 more arcs not done yet (Dulan’s arc, Happily Ever after arc, and 2x side stories, in this order.) Dulan's arc in particular is very important so if you want to wait for translations to reach this point, hang in there.

Good place to start is at chapter 167 if you wanna read more about Raymond’s… um… beastly nature when the floodgates are open lol.

You can do what I did, by skipping 94 chapters in the novel. Read chapter 1, then head over to chapter 96 because that’s when shit hits the fan... FOR THE TWO POS MLS. If you read the entire novel, the payoff will never be enough for the time you invested in this work. Tbh I will never ever get how authors can go on and on AND ON with the sexual torture porn, but I’m not their target audience for this so. /shrug I stuck around because people were raving about the author’s supposedly masterful skill at depicting emotions in revenge scenes (meh but it did just enough to trigger my emotions).

There’s a certain group of readers that books like this cater to, much like how NTR is for a selected group - for me, I’m just here for one thing : MC to collect his dues. You’re not supposed to ship MC and ML, you're not supposed to think it’s a good book - it’s meant to piss you off and if you stick around long enough, you’re expected to hang on because you will be rewarded with the MC’s RETRIBUTION that will DENY both ML’s redemption. I had a rough idea of what went on and I still cried tears of rage reading the novel because it was finally time for MC to rise.

And he absolutely dished it out tenfold. The revenge was glorious. It was perfect to see him ASCEND TO THE THRONE the way he did. The two trash MLs knew they broke him, they did him wrong all the way. I loved that the 2 will never get what they want and one of them completely submitted to MC knowing he will never have MC’s heart because he had nothing left to give except pure indifference. There will never be a happy ending and it ended just fine because tbh, nobody would pick up a book like this and expect a sane, happy ending. MLs got what they deserved and that’s it for me.

Jadeswan created a topic of For The Beautiful Juliet

So word on the street is, that Genas, king brother of ML, actually ends up with a male knight given to him by ML. His name is Harlan (according to NU spoilers)

Remember ch45, that knight who went on that mission sent by ML to check up on the deposed princess in the tower? HIS NAME IS SIR HALEN. I THINK HE IS THAT VERY KNIGHT. THE SAME KNIGHT who is apparently the JULIET EQUIVALENT to Genas in how both are their salvation. OMG damn, I’M GOOD.

For the toxic blond empress who’s been abusing Genas… a lot of stuff seem to happen but apparently she will be by the side of the future empress? WHO HAPPENS TO BE THE LITTLE RED HAIRED CHILD ALL GROWN UP NOW? Apparently there’s this twisted thing about the empress keeping her in captivity? WHAT IN THE TOXIC YURI

Does anyone have any novel raws to share? If not… well, I’ll figure out how to buy from Naver because I cannot NOT read about these side pairings.

I’m sticking around for one reason only : Andante’s epic yandere / wtf is happening faces in manhwa form lol. This is what happens when you take your partner for granted, expecting them to be on your beck and call, and don’t make any effort whatsoever to get to know them as a person.

Not gonna say much about Hyeseop or the novel (someone nearly lost it after the misunderstanding stretched out after 37383837 chapters, I feel you) but damn I’m living for Andante’s glorious faces these few chapters hahaha cry more

First off, I summarized the entire novel as much as I could here, for those looking for spoilers. I left out some unimportant events but I think I covered the major stuff :

Tbh, my memory may be foggy over this work since I last posted but I’ll bring up the source if you ever need it.

For blood relations IN NOVEL (see my note about Novel vs Manhwa in spoilers), some people were confused as they couldn’t find the source. English translations are very, very far behind; they’re still in the first book. The only time Tae Rok mentions anything about blood relations is in the second book.

For Nanyoung’s birthright : in the very first chapter in the first page, the novel speaks about MC bring a mirror image of the king his father. This confirms his birthright.

For Tae Rok the uncle: in volume 2, story 6 he says to Nanyoung this exact phrase : “ 너와 나는 피할 수 없는 인연. 피로 이어진 인연. 혈육 관계니까” which can be translated to "You and I share an inescapable bond. A connection forged in blood. Because we’re family." I’ve always went ??? about his birthright, but when I read this, I didn’t question it anymore.

Hope this helps. (BTW I’m not a self proclaimed incest lover asfgffhj I just read a VERY WIDE RANGE of Korean novels in case anyone’s wondering lololol)

No, I didn’t read the whole thing, I don’t know why some Korean readers raved about this work and I don’t really care to know. I skimmed through, saw someone saying that said the teacher ended up with her colleague (the one in the bus) but also INCORRECTLY SAID there were 91 chapters so I got curious.

Well, here’s a picture of the actual couple. Who’s this, you ask? Well I’ll tell you who this ISN’T: he is NOT THE COLLEAGUE.

Dropping this here, bye. (For anyone asking, I don’t know any raw sources for this, I saw I could rent the chapter on Ridibooks for a small fee so I bought it)

That 4th ML… actually has the most main ML aura. The latest chapter just made me SWOON because their vibes are so cute and AWKWARD AND THEY JUST NEED A FRIEND no drama. I’m rooting for him and because of this, I need to marinate until next year.

Ok, so dumping the spoilers here before I move on and forget details.

….

So are they blood-related? Yes AND no.

Yes - In the NOVEL.

No - because in the MANHWA, they can’t be. As the poster below said, it is officially illegal to show blood related incest. (Even p*rnhwa is afraid to depict this because there are very very strict laws on it) Scenes like the servants gossiping about Prince’s birth, rumors of the Queen’s pregnancy timeline etc did not happen in the novel - so this may indicate the author wants to change this part.

Use this information to decide if you want to stick around.

AVOID THIS POINT IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE SPOILED FURTHER.

The basic summary is, Tae Rok the uncle and Nanyoung the nephew were as close as you could clearly see in the manhwa, up until Nanyoung visited Tae Rok and his wife (ch6 in the manhwa) After that, the wife warned Tae Rok that this sweet affection could dangerously grow to something more.

Tae Rok and his wife had a business transaction - the wife wanted to fulfill her duties in religion, which means to be free from constraints and disappear forever from public eye so she asked Tae Rok for help. In doing so, this could cause her family to be indebted to Tae Rok for political reasons. The novel had often said these two had similar personalities and pride, and they mutually disliked each other from their very first meeting. It was a sham of a marriage and didn’t even last long cos she disappeared quite early.

After the wife’s warning, Tae Rok began to completely distance himself from nephew. This went on for about 4-5 years, and of course nephew struggled with this as he grew older. There were times when he would sometimes see Tae Rok in his friend (just a case of him missing uncle a lot so he was projecting big time). Nephew began to ask friend about homosexuality and later kissed the friend because he wanted to know more about his feelings and what’s going on inside himself whenever he thinks about uncle.

So Tae Rok was out hunting, and he saw this. He absolutely lost reason and dragged nephew back to his place. So HERE, this kicks off the scene in the prologue with Tae Rok ***ing nephew and the comment about them being each other’s scandals, meaning both of them will fall into the pits of hell together as he forces them to cross a line that should never be crossed.

The king passed away and some people wanted to commit treason and overthrow the new king, Nanyoung’s older brother. So Taerok was also involved in this, and nephew overheard the treason talks.

So nephew begged Taerok to spare his brother, and Tae Rok calmly gave nephew an ultimatum : he would leave the king brother alone if nephew sleeps with him. Yeah. So I do see a bit of a psychological thing going on here : for nephew, Tae Rok is the ‘evil scheming uncle’, while for uncle, this was the reason provided for the nephew to acknowledge the hidden feelings and fall into sin. This is not just me saying btw, they even had this very conversation about this justification much later on. Nephew was crying away often and hating but not really hating the uncle everytime they ***, but Taerok was fine to play the bad guy and the only one have the confidence to act on it. Only by ‘forcing’ nephew could he have him.

Anyway later on, Tae Rok, after coming to terms with himself, had a proper conversation with nephew about their relationship and their history together. Basically, Tae Rok resolved to give up the uprising and sided with the king brother, because nephew was even more valuable to him than the uprising. Meaning they fucking finally talked, and this is where both of them dropped all pretense and really laid out their feelings out. Nephew was to properly respond to Tae Rok’s feelings once he came back from delegation trip.

But there was news that nephew was in a shipwreck and Tae Rok absolutely LOST IT. Like he went straight to king brother and demanded to be sent to find nephew - so here, the king brother already had an inkling of something not right between them. So he was HORRIFIED that his own brother and nephew were engaged in sin. Tae Rok was urgently requesting the king to send him, preparing to accept any punishment as long as he could find nephew. Now here, Tae Rok chose to submit to king NOT BECAUSE of fear, but it really was all because of nephew. In reality, there is no one who could overthrow Tae Rok as he could very easily
dethrone his other king nephew just like that. Tae Rok gave that up for nephew when he chose to side with king brother and outed all the traitors.

So Taerok went ahead and managed to find nephew, who was thought to be dead. Nephew said he will make a request to his king brother, that he wanted to be declared dead during this moment and surrender his title as grand prince, his entire existence. This is all so he could live contently with Tae Rok. Meaning the whole world will never acknowledge grand prince nephew who will have officially died in that shipwreck. Also meaning, both could finally live together in a happy ending like they wanted, ever if they thought themselves damned in the process. This is a very very summarized version of the story.

There is also a side story and an AU modern story (probably not as uncle and nephew this time) I don’t feel strongly enough for nephew to read on. /shrug I’ll try to answer any more spoiler questions if you have any but I think I covered mostly the major stuff.

So I caved in and bought the entire three volumes, I’ll do a read of it this weekend and if no one hasn’t post any spoilers yet, I’ll probably do a summary. They speak in old Korean so good luck to me

I think this is also where if you don’t like incest, related or non related, it’s time to move on. The tags are there for a reason. This is a very popular toxic kink, it’s been around for the 30+ years since BL existed, and I’m sure people are old enough to discern between real life and fiction. Not to say you don’t have the right to your opinion but just endlessly posting about it just ruins any good vibe readers may have here.

So imagine trying to hold on for TWO MONTHS. That’s the time of suffering you’ll be going through.

in other words, it’s time to marinate.

SPOILERS FOR EARLY YEARS

Okay, so there’s a lot to unpack here in the beginning so I’ll break it down in sections. I got my info from the first four translated chapters which you can read. After that, the book can be purchased in Ridibooks.com but you need to be age verified.

- EARLY AGE
THERE IS NO PEDOPHILIA. I repeat, there is NO POTENTIAL LOVE/SLOWBURN going on between uncle and nephew.

I need to stress this, because if you go in reading this work preparing to condemn the work in advance, you’ll pretty much lose a lot of details here and do yourself a disfavor. This stone cold uncle DOES admonish him in his own ‘wtf are you doing, man up or stay put if you wanna follow me around’ way while others fawn over the little prince, which others see as teasing because it is a very big deal for the uncle to even pay attention in the first place. I’m stunned because I want to know how did it get from this to the scene we saw in the prologue. As of this point, there is nothing sexual.

- BLOOD RELATION
The novel talks about the loving relationship between the Queen and King (this is where I need to re-read the manhwa again because some of the difference in details is tripping me) The nephew IS BLOOD RELATED to the king because the novel speaks of the child being a spitting image of the king. Edit: I’ve run the original phrase of this in various translation tools, and everything translates to the child being the king’s image. Which means the scene of the servants gossiping about the prince was when he was a baby, and it was only when the prince turned 5 that he fully resembled his king father.

However, THE UNCLE, on the other hand… I haven’t read further - but I suspect HE might actually be the one not blood related.

- THE WIFE
In early engagement days, these two loathed each other from the first meeting. The marriage is purely political , arranged by the Ministries because he was just not interested - the uncle mentions a few times, that because they seem to be similar in personality and pride, their distaste for each other is also evident. He delayed the marriage for as long as he could and the wife WAS PERFECTLY FINE with that. The novel described them as standing with each other in one scene like comrades (then corrected itself in the same breath by saying even less than that, as it implies comrades are close, but they are not) instead of lovers, when MC went to meet her for the first time.

If I were to describe it, remember that 18+ scene between uncle and MC in the beginning? SO if she knew, I DON’T THINK SHE EVEN CARES AND IF ANYTHING, she could’ve been even watching out for them as a guard, that’s the idea that I got from reading about their engagement which is not even like one at all.

This is the end of the translated chapters - I’m still debating on whether to purchase because it just doesn’t read well in MTL so I KNOW I’ll lose a lot in detail. (In other words, I’ll probably buy the book because I want to know what happens lol)

Jadeswan created a topic of TEN

This story is best when it focuses on our main couple and their wholesome vibes. Now I’m waiting to see what the deal with all this screen time the second ML has, and it’s BECAUSE of that trainer. My senses are going crazy. 2ML IS a pos asshole, but I absolutely appreciate the negative sentiments this guy is causing in me because this leaves a lot of room for his character to grow - I’ve always loved redemption arcs and I have an absolute weakness for 2MLs getting their own pairing and character arc (I swooned over the spin off stories of 2MLs in Alpha Trauma, King of Home Dating and My Suha, the latter of which the 2ML was thought to be completely irredeemable but ended up one of the major highlights of the side stories cos he fell in love with 1st ML’s best friend)

So back to the trainer,,, I hope that the author IS doing something with trainer. Why? Because from what I observed, that trainer’s character was TOO STRONG AND INTERESTING to be mere NPC. If author is setting trainer up with asshole second ML, it would canonize this for me to be the ONLY work where I would equally fall for first couple AND second couple. Trainer sounds totally no nonsense ‘I ain’t putting up with your shit’ which is the perfect foil for asshole 2ML.

Jadeswan created a topic of A First of Summers

I’m convulsing because it has been EXACTLY TWO MONTHS of pure agony. I have absolutely no idea how I managed to last since April - but I see that THEY FINALLY MEET. Yeorum has never lost his positivity nor his heart but he is definitely cautious, in pain and WANTING answers. They are fucking running through the snow like a scene straight out of a Korean drama and I am loving every moment of this.

Jadeswan created a topic of A First of Summers

THERE IS LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL THANK GOD, because I was starting to collapse from the misery.

What if THIS TIME, it’s Mr Lim’s turn to PROPOSE ONE MONTH for Yeorum to ‘fall for him’? Yes we all know Yeorum loves him still, but you can’t have a chasing arc without groveling and healing from the emotional damage caused. Yeorum has always been the proactive one, but what if this time, perhaps we will see Mr Lim going through the extra mile to show his feelings for Yeorum and going through his own character development journey by doing this.

And the end of the one month period will coincide with the beginning of springtime, where new leaves begin to flourish… unlike the time when Yeorum’s own one month period ended with heartbreak and the dying leaves of autumn. Oh my heart.
