What do you mean long term profit? If you know more of a celebrities career you will understand that not doing any work to boost your career while you are still hot and trending and instead waste 1 year doing a movie. of course others would have already lost interest with the celebrity who did not take the spotlight while he was on his peak.
And the company knows this so that is why they are trying to earn more and boost our mc while he is still trending. Saying that it is a long term profit? it is not like an investment where the more time you give the more money is being made. Careers like these is when money and opportunities decline the more time is being waste.
I know your thinking that it is because the movie will be a hit and would make so much more money and boost him more as an actor But it you think in terms of business that is highly unlikely and such a risk move to waste his time while he is still at his peak. And the company knows this and unlike our mc who is not thinking like this cause his mindset is trash the company knows better for him.

cause i hate the typically stories where the childhood hero would get to be with MC even though in the previous setting he is the one who left the childhood friend behind for another person...
