I’m honestly so confused with kotani??? Like you don’t want to get married , sure I don’t view marriage as necessary however an explanation would be nice. Also, just the wedding?? If you wanted a more appropriate equivalent he’d also have to suggest an alternative form of commitment. Rings, move in, etc. You’d think he’d realize how much of a romantic his boyfriend is, so it’d be nice if he’d vocalize why; cause it doesn’t sound like indifference towards marriage but an outright refusal of it so he should have some reason. And it’s a serious conversation, I’d like it if they talked more about it, like sat down — no sex — and spoke about their feelings for longer than 2 minutes.
Plus didn’t they get matched on a marriage service??? If you didn’t sign yourself up, he shouldve told shishikura the moment they got serious (it wouldn’t have made sense at the start cause they didn’t like each other, honestly one sided, and not even a relationship was a possibility much less marriage). Otherwise he’s going to, reasonably assume given their meeting context, believe he just doesn’t want to get ‘tied down’ to him specifically. Like what if someone who hated farming and would never farm, signed up for farmers only?? “Yeah I know you want to homestead with me and wake up early to tend to the animals and stuff but why don’t we live in the suburbs,, I’ll let you have a little garden in the back :D”
