How come not more people are excited about the Olympics? Its basically a tournament arc in REAL LIFE. I mean, its got EVERYTHING. The hard working main protagonists, the hype ass commentators, and even the villains (ISRAEL AND RUSSIA). Not to mention the performances plus the variety of sports you can choose from lol. (≧∀≦)

Yall cant even handle kang mincheol. The point of these backstories is not to make you like him, but to flesh out haesu and micheol's character. Stop complaining, if you hate it so much, just drop it.
How is his background story fleshing him out? Don't worry, I don't think the story is any less bc of his screen time.
Finally!!the mix emotions is what makes us all human not just right or wrong, i love about it is that if kang pulled a jerk move than our boy isnt so fair either...lying to her hiding from her maipulating her sympathy..story is not your 15 year old rom com cup of tea
I absolutely agree. I like most people read romance manhwa or books just to see the couples lovey dovey moments. But without any backstory to the characters, the story falls flat . This back story is not just Kang Minncheol"s backstory, but also Hae Soo's backstory. If I were in her shoes , I don't think I could never trust another soul no matter what. But she is was braver then me.
I think it serves as a frame of reference to see how much Mincheol has transformed into such an asshole.
It "humanizes"? him. His backstory doesn't serve to justify his actions, just shows the circumstances that led to those actions. Overall I think it makes the story alot more realistic, seeing as how you can see a person in real life making the decisions that Mincheol also makes which makes it unsettling to realize.
