No matter how much I excuse everything with “they’re being brainwashed,” it still feels disgusting to me. The thought of the brothers being entertained at the same time by the Blonde makes me sick; them living under the same roof with her husband’s ‘first love’ makes me sick; the older brother being overly, disgustingly obsessed with a girl who grew up almost like their sister makes me sick (like my body physically reacts to it—it repulses me).
Plus, the Duke’s favoritism between his sons and the blatant disrespect toward Edith make me want to vomit. This is so good but it’s so hard to read. I either just cry for Edith or vomit in disgust.
