Someone else brought this up to but it’s weird that he knows little to nothing but knows having a heir or whatever will protect her
He was educated normally as a Crown Prince until the curse drove him completely mad. So he does possess knowledge that comes out in bits and pieces like knowing a heir will protect her but not knowing an egg is just an egg.
It comes out when he goes into protective mode like with the guards as well.
