I don’t know, as a POC it’s the very last thing I was thinking about. I’m not thinking much on it unless it becomes a pattern which I doubt it’ll be. For your own comfort I just wouldn’t finish the story ╮(￣▽￣)╭
I thought the same and was disappointed too. Even in Full Volume, the villain was a tanned Korean man, even colorism is shown.
No, I like the story. LOVE the story, actually. I just refuse to sit back and watch people gaslight those of us with melanin simply because they have the privilege to never have to think about the implications.
And I'm TIRED of it. I wanna enjoy a story as much as the next person without thinking of the optics, but it's almost 2026. Mangaka's cannot be absolved of colorism or racism simply for being "from a different culture"; the internet exists, and they very much have access to it

The film industry is known for having an excess of...shady practices that often exploit children, women, and men. The circle is so tight knit and competitive that one wrong move can cost an actor their entire career. Oftentimes, they will do unsavory things and never speak on it simply to preserve their careers, while the perpetrators continue to walk free.
In the area of grooming, if you look at celebrities (such as Dr*ke B*ll, for example), you can see that they are groomed traumatically into these unsavory behaviors. While there are many who seek help, others will instead continue to perpetuate the cycle, because they never healed from their trauma and - worse still - they see it as "just part of the industry." This, in turn, causes a vicious cycle where the abused turn into the abusers.
