Medical Return Webtoon
MC that was a failure in his first life, and now has a second chance to change everything, becoming the best doctor-surgeon in the entire world [9/10] This manhwa seemed more like an enemies to lovers, and it had a great potential to be a toxic BL. Jihyun (MC) and Sangmin (villain) had more freaking chemistry than him and Hyemi (FL that i simply can't totally like). I mean, even thoguh he bullied him in his past life, he gave him a second chance in his new one after he saw that he wasn't doing anything to him after that little fight that they had. And then, Jihyun was like hating on him because Sangmin killed people, and was trying to find evidence to destroy him and bla bla bla... But like the ending? that was like those stories where the main characters can't be together and they just meet again after both of them just made their paths and are happy, but still remembering those time where they were toghether and happy lol. And also, Sangmin was obssessed with Jihyun, he said, or implied at least, that Jihyun was his first important person, what do you mean by that? that sound perfectly for a BL. Also, the way he looked at him when he was pointing the gun at Jihyun, with that sad and regretful face, I know that he didn't want to do that, maybe, because I know that he was very important to him, he showed him a true friendship, the first relation that he had with other people, I know that what he felt for Jihyun was geniune, even if he doesn't realize it. So yeah, that enemies to lovers would be better. Anyways, the story is good and has a good plot. The MC is basically a genius after having a lot of practice in surgical procedures and diagnosis, also has the knowledge of the things where he can help and invest to make more money (in his twenties he was a freaking millionaire). I liked very much the relationship that he had with his parents, since he realized all the wrong thing he did to them, he decided to change everything and made them happy, saving the life of his father and bringing a new and comfortable life to his mother. In the pther hand, the fact that in his first life was the last one in his grades, and that now he was the first in the entire school was a point that was interesting, because it shows how Moojin, his friend (that was also like him), and Chulwoo (the other bully) changed for good thanks to the way he was living. I mean, he just didn't change his life, but the others too, making them to live a better life with a success that maybe didn't have in the first life. Now, about Sangmin. I didn't liked him because the actions he did aren't justified just for his past. But, I can understand that he had a big future in his hands that was forced to accept, in any ways, since his asshole father was a freaking abuser that treated him and his other kids (Hyemi and Bumsoo) like trash, but he had a bigger hate towards him since his mother was an ordinary woman with schyzophrenia, thing that also makes me feel bad for him since his life wasn't easy, he was always under a presure that in the end made him do bad things just to have a little peace and satisfy the orders of his father. I also think that he would not be like that, or at least he wouldn't have reach the point to kill a lot of people, if it wasn't for the new Jihyun, that being honest, even though he was a genius, it was all thanks to his knowledge of the past, at the end, Sangmin was the true genius there, since he made a lot of effort to reach that point, but his efforts were nothing since Jihyun was already receiving all the spotlight. Still, like i said, his past it's not justification for his action, I can't forgive him for what he did, killing a young happy woman and almost trying to kill a sweet little child, but there is a way of me that wants to forgive him, and wants to show him that what he had with Jihyun was the only thing that he needed. If he didn't do the things he did, maybe he could have destroy his father with the help of Jihyun, but his perturbed mind was in a point of no regression. I liked that the godess also gave him a second opportunity, realizing that was the actions of his family what made him like that, and that he was just an innocent child once that could have a good life if not for those that hated him and put him in the corner of a cliff. The way he just found himself drinking his favourite drink with Jihyun was a scene that I liked, since he know that can't gain his favor again, at least he will drink silently enjoying the possibly last moment with the one who once was his person. And also Jihyun, just knowing that he was Sangmin, and just drinking silently after seeing his new state (half burned, and kinda homeless and alone, but at least with a better mind without his sins following him, and still practicing medicine and helping the other villagers) and in a way just trying to not think about the past, and just enjoying the time with the one who has a good relationship once. Oh i just adored it, really. In the other hand, about the women in the story. First, I didn't like Hyemi, she didn't had anything more than being a surgeon and a chaebol, we didn't see anything more than that. She was cute and very supportive, but still she was just meh. Second, Yeonhee, the first wife, was a little better, in a way i think it would be interesting to see how Jihyun would have made a better relationship with her after all the complications they had in the past. Third, Amy, that gorgeous american woman that was literally one perfect option, he helped her in her projects and he received money for that, he could go to the best hospital in the world thanks to her, and also put his name in a lot of papers that gain recognition over the world. I mean, she was everything, was more interesting and had a bussiness on her own, but anyways. Fourth and last, Mary, that godmother of the american mafia, she was just very beautiful and interesting, I mean, what could have been the plot with Jihyun dating someone from the mafia, ot could be more interesting (at least for me). Also, she literally gave him all the proof to put in jail Sangmin's father, that stupid asshole that just put stones in his path; she literallysaved him and allowed him to do his revenge. Mary was a very good option too. To end this, I want to say that even though didn't like Hyemi too much, I know that Jihyun is happy with her, and they have a beautiful family, with a son well-raised, that wants to follow his father's steps. So that's what counts, them being happy in this new life where Jihyun could not only save himself of a bad destiny, but also others that came to him for help. (Brief mention to that korean doctor in the USA and the uncle of Hyemi that was like the favourite son of her grandfather after he was always taking care of him; those old men were so freaking hot, they were my type, I would have liked to see more of them, so handsome <3)
The Taming of The Tyrant
Obsessive Male Lead x Strong with a lot of Hatred Female Lead [7.85/10] I'm very conflicted with this story. The plot is this: female lead is hated by her family for "killing" her mother during birth. Everyone ignores her, so she tries to excell in something, that is swordmanship. The king makes her a knight, and promised her to be the sword, words that she took as someone finally recognizing her, when the thruth was another. The king made her part of an experiment and turned her into a sword for 400 years. She came back in time and tried to take revenge on the empire by being the tutor of the Ninth prince, who excelled in everything but lived a life in the shadows bc of the will of her mother. She tries to make him a tyrant, and succeeds. There is a rebellion, the king is tortured, and they live "happy" for a while. That is until someone said to her that she is the incarnation of the god of evil, and that she is bond to kill her lover since he is the most complete part of a god that has been torn into pieces. She scaped and the emperor (ML) turns crazy. He made everything to capture her, making a deal with the tower of magic (who took partition in the experiment) and also by making a promise of life to hear to help her succeed in her revenge. She stays. She and the emperor now are lovey-dovey. They discover that she is not the incarnation of the god of evil, but it was the "2nd ML" (that of 2nd doesn't have anything), and since he had lots of contact with the emperor, he has tarnished him and now is not a "pure" piece of the god, that turns him evil. The three of them then went to take revenge on the head of the magic tower, aka the first follower of the god of evil, since their plan of making the FL pass as that god failed. The three of them fall in a trap. Dylan is killed, the god of evil wakes up in Kahu, Charlize is numb, the god tries to give her a wish for all the things she passed in life, there is battle between the gods, the good god is "killed", there is a fight with the evil god, he is destroyed by killing kahu, the good god appears again since Liz protected the last piece of her, he revives the two of them while taking the life of the follower of evil, now everyone is happy. They have a son, and now the son is going to have the daughter of the follower as his future partner since they showed mercy to her. Two things that i liked: the way the whole story, Charlize was guided by her revenge, and didn't want to stop even if that meant to use Dylan, who she had become fond of. The second thing is the obsession in Dylan's character. I'm a sucker for that, since he never laid a finger on her, but had those obsessive thoughts that made him questionable. He was made that way thanks to Charlize. Since she knew that boy was so bored by life, by being so perfect that no one could ever match him, she made everything possible to make him interested on her. Obviously that backfired, but i enjoyed the meticulous things she did to make him like that. Also loved how Dylan would do anything for her, how he changed even the location of the main city, the castle, to another place since there were so bad memories. The scene where Liz sit in his lap is also so so so incredible, the type of things i like since it shows how in love and obsessed he is with her, giving her everything he has, no matter what, without question. Now, the things i didn't like. First, the way Kahu is portrayed. Not until the fucking last chapter he finally decided to let her go. He was in love with Liz since the beginning, he did everything to find her, and even risk his life for her. He is such an adorable and devoted man, that the fact that he kept suffering until the end felt like a freaking joke. That man deserved a lot better than to become the teacher of their son. This man deserved some vacations, and find his true love in another place or something, be away from there after all that happen. Everything lived his happy ever after ending while he was still stuck in his own feelings. He wasn't even a choice, man. He was just there to suffer, nor in his first nor second life he enjoyed his time there, and it made me mad since he is such a cute and angelic character. Another thing i didn't like is the fact that they had to forgive the descendant of the follower just to made them see as "good characters". I was with Dylan there, just killing her even if she didn't commit any crime. Why do authors like to marry the offspring of their trauma to the protagonist's son? it's something i will never understand, and makes me have complex feelings since at the end there shouldn't be any forgiveness, anything towards those who threatening their lives and made their lives a living hell. Another thing i didn't like is that neither the emperor, neither the head of the magic tower or the god of evil or the other followers truly suffer a fraction of what Liz did. It was everything so fast. And last one, she was going to give up everything just to revive Dylan, what i get it, it's the love of her life, obviously would do that, BUT, the entire plot was revolved around revenge and not minding who u hurt if that means the fall of the empire, to end with "love is the most important thing in the world", kinda lost it purpose there, but well, it doesn't really bothers me like the other things. Anyway, what i did like too, is the fact that we could see the perspective of her family, and their own karma. Obviously they deserved the worst, and i would had like to see how her father was doing after seeing the tremendous dissapointment her wife showed him in the afterlife. I liked to see how complicated their feeling were, and the scene of them gifting her the flowers she is allergic too without knowing is still one of my favorite scenes, since u can really see the despise she have in them, and also the repentance in their faces by not knowing even the slightest thing of her. Anyways, karma. Characters that i also liked besides an older and father Dylan, would be Kahu obviously, my protegee, the red haired girl that was always flirting with Liz, the main two knights of the order Liz created (oknhett or something like that), the blonde haired man that was part of the group of pieces of the god, he was so loyal to Liz that made him really likeable, and yeah that's all. Kahu i pray for ur hapiness, u are the character i feel sorry the most, u truly deserved better than all that 3 (Also i would have liked that her wish was to travel back in time, so she takes care of that follower first, and keeps Dylan again with her so he becomes the future emperor, and then she takes care too of the emperor, and tries to find a way to make Kahu not a living vessel and to make him forget everything about her so he can live happy with another person, and Liz and Dylan can be happy too without having that trauma again lol)
Again
Coquettish CEO Seme x Beautiful Actor who returned to the past Uke [10000000/10] I'm very biased in this story. The plot is very simple, but it has so many beautiful and cute moments that i can put this between my top 10 of fluffiest manhwas. The story goes around Han Nokyoung, a rude actor that after being thrown acid in his face, the only person he cared about left him. And after all the hate comments he received callingn it karma since he was a really bad person, he decided to take his life. He then encounters with his mother in the afterlife and she says to him that he has to live properly this time. He then finds out he returns 3 years prior the incident and tries to change everything. He becomes a total different person, thinking in other, helping them and trying to make ammends for his past mistakes. One of those is Kang Junil, who is one of the biggest and important CEOs in Korea, and also the man that he used to become famous since the person he loved in the first time told him to use him and film a sex-tape to blackmail him. But now Nokyoung is determined to cut all ties with that man and suceed on his own, thing that he said to Junil and there is were the interest towards him starts. Both of them keep encountering each other as if it were destiny, and become very good friends/boyfriends-to-be. Junil helps in everything he can: invests in the serie Nokyoung is since he promised him a good profit (he knows is going to be popular, so is not afraid), helps him get rid of his parents that were after his money, gets rid of the ex-lover (kinda wasn't), and also is there to support him in every moment. Then we find out that Nokyoung's mother (a shaman) died as a form to repent his sins by taking all the bad sickness Junil had when he was young. Then Junil and Nokyoung had a beautiful moment after that revelation and basically start living together, while putting the cherry on top of the cake when they succeed in putting Junil's older brother in jail, together with the ex-lover and ex-boss of Nokyoung (who repented and grieved at the end for losing him). Nokyeong becomes a biggest international star thanks to his actoral habilities and his freaking pretty and angelicus face, and both of them are so lovey-dovey that they are getting married at the end of the manhwa. So this story is really one of the prettiest i have read. Nokyoung (uke) is basically repenting a lot throughout the manhwa. He really did bad deeds in his first life (put his manager, Sanho, in a hell of work since he had a bad temper, basically making him quit; he made an actor, my little Kyunghan, take his own life after making bad rumors of his bullying history; he treated everyone as if they were under him; made Junil to film a sex tape to have a spot in a good movie, and a lot of other-who-knows things), but now he has decided to change, and the first thing he did was to cut all ties with his boss, the main problem in all this. I really like Nokyoung as a character, he had a very rough life: he saw his mother in a lot of pain before dying, his grandmother abandoned him since she saw him as the culprit of her daughter's death, he had to scape and always be scare of debt collectors since his father also abandoned him with a huge debt, he then was groomed by his boss (who i'm glad never touched him besides kissing him) by showering him with love and care with the intend of using him as a tool, and then he was shamed for the sex-tape and had his face desfigured (thing that i really know why, and i can't blame the culprit since it was all deserved), thing that made him be abandoned by his boss who said he was useless now and take his own life. I mean, he really never lived well, he was used in every step of his way, so how can anyone expect to be the most angelical person? Everyone reacts different, and that's why even tho he did such bad and horrible things, i don't put it against him, he never had anyone on his side, he never knew how to love nor how to live properly, he was always shown with hatred so what would u expect of someone like that? Never had any support, so when someone reached a hand towards him he was going to take it, and do anything in his power to maintaining it there. He is such a complex character because he made lots of mistakes, and living a second life doesn't erase them, but made him to learn from them and also grow as a person. I like that in this life, he made everything to give Kyunghan one of his biggest oportunities, and not only that, he saved his life this time and helped him rid of the bully that tormented his life (a new actor that had plastic surgery and changed his name so he won't be recognize). He is now a well-known actor and model and has a happy life with Junil, and i like that, because he also deserved a second chance after all that hell of life. About Junil, i can say he is a hilarious character. He is very coquettish, doesn't spend any opportunity to send mix-signals to Nokyoung (that aren't actually mix since he really intends to date him). He is a green flag, a really beautiful man that knows how to use his power to help his lover, but still, trying to meddle in his business in a formal way, not by giving him opportunities because he is with him, but just supporting him through his career knowing he will succeed with his own hands. He is really there for Nokyoung and really shows him how love is supposed to be. He is a good man that will always defend him, even if it's against his parents or grandfather. They were destined to be together thanks to the mother. And i like that Junil knows that she saved him, because apparently, between the family, he is the only that truly knows what it was lost. I mean the grandfather and mother should be (as Junil said) kneeling in front of Nokyoung. Just imagine what a good human being could have been, what a not-tormentous-life he could have if it weren't for her early death. She made a sacrifice, a really big sacrifice, and Junil's mother treats him as a stone in the road of his son, since she intends to make him marry a woman. Like, madam she lost his mother when he was just a child thanks to your son, not putting agains them, but at least show some respect or gratitude, i couldn't see any of it. But well, we can see that the grandfather wasn't really against it and even if his mother (who at the end accepted him) was against him, Junil wouldn't mind any opinion, he knows he loves his man and would do anything for him. For side characters: the ex-boss and his left hand, with the oldest brother of Junil who was the lover and sponsor of the ex-boss, were a pain in the ass. I'm happy that the left hand man was left in jail and that the brother was quit from everything in the company after the sex-tape between him and the ex-boss was released (the only thing i'm thankful to the ex-boss. Also, love that Junil never said what he did to Nokyoung and lied to him that he was still a bad guy when they went to see them). I also hate the grandmother, she is one of the worst characters in here, she knew his grandson was going to left alone, and still decided to abandoned him to his luck. She never understood the sacrifice her daughter made with the purpose of giving him a good life, and so she jus turned her back towards him as if he was the most disgraceful thing she could see. I don't like her at all, because i'm a believer that if she stayed with him and at least raised him properly, Nokyoung wouldn't have to suffer in that first life, he trully needed a helping hand, and i'm thankful that in his second chance, Junil showered him with love. I like Sangho, Kyunghan and the other actors that supported Nokyoung, with his stylist (that woman really knows how to make Nokyoung more attractive, and does a magnificent job by dressing him like a woman). Kyunghan is my protegee, he really had a bad life in the first time, he was the real victim. I'm glad Nokyoung really put his all to make him a star in this life and also prolonged it. He deserves all the love in this worls, my little baby. Both of them are really a perfect couple, they are made for each other, because both of them are very coquettish towards each other, they play a lot, and seeing all that flirting is so so entertaining, makes my giggle and love them more. They both save each other, even if it looks as if Junil made all the work, Nokyoung was also there, showering with lots of love (also, i like that the only person that went to visit him in the hospital was Junil too, even though all the bad things they had with ech other, Junil was the only one that showed some pity in him, that demonstrates he is a good person). Anyway i wanted to see the weeding, this two are so adorableeee <3<3<3<3<3
