For those of you just as sad as I am with how short this is, I realized from the first few pages that this is identical to a DenNor Hetalia fanfic called Black Ember. To the point that I'm pretty sure the fanfic writer took the idea and made a novel length fanfic with it. It's really good too so I'm not even mad.
