cute ! the side stories did kind of ruin my rating, this is technically a 3.5/5 in my eyes, idk the main story was really good though like it had a really good build up to them getting together and yh i don't normally like sappy romance like this but tbh they were rly cute and I love a shy alpha . side stories pushed it a bit for me with the sappiness, I will comment on how I feel their dialogue is slightly unnatural for me, idk maybe that's just me, and also their side stories were quite uncomfortable because of the poor attempt at tyring to do this bdsm roleplay situation but it was like this whole misread situation uhh yh EDIT: ykw fuck my previous criticisms that sappy ending dug into my heart this is 5 stars post clarity- yh no def 4 stars bc the story doesn stand out and ash is not a bf irl u'd want bc he's insecure and demanding

Do You Still Like Me?

Complete | Shiyan,시옌,Siyen | 2019 released

I FUCKING LOVED THIS THEY WERE SO CUTE Everything about the two suggest maturity and elegance omfg, I also loved the whole pottery and art exhibition setting, it really added to the whole elegant vibe along with their cloaks and suits. I loved how they had the doberman dog, it's such an elegant dog asw, further adds to the whole atmosphere here. Also this being in the UK really makes sense at first I got slightly confused by the narration of their feelings and interactions, I think evth started making sense to me after C15 or sth. Yh i loved the pet, more romances need to include a pet into the narration, it can really add to the relationship dynamic. I just loved how nothing in this was all too that dramatic, some big emotions but that's realistic anyways. I love emotional drama so much, it's way better than creating actual big dramatic events. The knotting scenes were good This is a 5 star on the lower end for me, idk it was really good but normally when I'm reading something, I feel like I get really involved in the story, but with this one it really did feel like a drama so i read it in silence almost, only up until the very end around C45 was I getting riled up. Ig that isn't a criticism but that's why it's a lower 5 star in my eyes

Aesthetics of Unpleasantness

Complete | Seuseu | 2022 released

THIS COULD CHANGE TO 5 STARS because I'm surprised the author was able to pinpoint a fault with her story, and it definitely is bc the story is hard to follow, though it's because she's tried to written a very mature storyline with very well thought out arcs so it's no surprise she has tried to explain everything to her best attempt, glad she didn't go down the monologue pathway bc I hate those, they're so uncalled for and I'd prefer to be left in the unknown for a bit longer as long as evth clears up by the end because it's still a thrill to read along the way. I really like Brett as a character he's quite a unique take on a rich kid cos he's arrogant but got a reasonable character to him because he's not childish and deals with shit reasonably. Him going through all that sexual assault and then coming out with such a brave face was heart-breaking bc the author shows moments where he pauses and goes tense and that's like honestly for me a new way of portraying a victim bc usually bls just portray really big emotions afterwards of like being upset or angry, so brett being like almost 'chill' is unnerving, maybe not the right word but somewhat chilling but you still feel empathy (u alw feel empathy towards victims but ykwim) I'm kinda sad this is over after the next season, I hope it ends with side stories of them having nice dates , I was supposed to hold out till the release of s3 so I could make sure to remember evth when this updated but nvm I got too excited. Oh I also really like how this story actually mentions how bonds don't equal romantic attraction, makes their relationship feel more genuine because they actually grew to where they are right now. I definitely think this has poor rating bc lots of people were thrown off by the rough sex at the start, I bet loads of ratings were left before they reached the chapter that explains how Brett actually encouraged it to happen
