I feel like it was rushed. highly betting the author was initially planning to really let mimasaka have feelings for katou and viewed satou as a "replacement" subconsciously because that's how the author kinda built it up in the first chapters. maybe author was just limited on time or there was only a set of chapters given to her that's why the storyboard transformed to something else. it's a shame. I don't feel where mimasaka's love came from that much, sadly.
