MY PERSONAL OPINION)) I kinda think that the reason why they're two separate beings(?) Could actually be that farewell(? Whatever his name is, the character) became a demon after his family was killed and the the demon was summoned (there was a summoning circle with their(his family's)inside and the demon was summoned inside (so he could be like the outer shell like how the demon king was attempting to get smth stronger to take over)of him but because his mental is so strong the demon couldn't do anything and farwell absorbed it or smth. But idk Hoyeol had a while notebook abt him so idk why it wouldn't be written down if he was a demon
