The female lead is a pharmacist who has treated her patients with an illegal medication, in order for her to survive she must marry the grand duke. Her mother is the main nurse of the duke, and because of that, the young lady is very accustomed with the people there and the duke is acquainted and very gentle with her. The duke has proposed to her fast, because by distributing those illegal substances, she could be beheaded. The duke seems to be protective of her since he knows her from when she was a little kid, and every time he saves her when something is wrong. The male lead had a lot of plans in order to accomplish his goal of protecting the female lead, and those were : - take care of her father which is a two timer and a gambler who is in debt - also take care of the situation which he put his own daughter due to his debt, which means that he sold her to an old pig. But since he is manipulative he left the female lead figure it out first before taking care of it, he wanted to wait before he took care of the filthy pig, because he knew that the latter would pay a visit to the young lady. And since the lady didn’t immediately accept his proposal, he believed that she would run to him if she knew to who she would end up if she didn’t accept. Then, he also didn’t care of her father due to the fact that he knew, his woman would want to visit him first.
