It regretfully didn’t live up to the hype.
The plot has that same overdone chaebol heir meets guy with a debt, falls in love and proceeds to molest him until he acquiesces to be in a relationship trope that I really can’t bring myself to be into. I have to admit, though, that watering down the plot to just that would be doing this manhwa a disservice. It does have many originals twists, and I think it’s one of the most accomplished examples of this manhwa archetype. I even teared up a bit reading the last chapters. The non-romance story line IS nice. Still – it was, overall, severely underwhelming. Furthermore, I hated where the main characters’ relationship ended up in the end. Like, we went through all of this and he’s still acting like he hates that guy? Really? What are we even doing here, man.
It’s always that “tsundere”-ish uke characterisation manhwa authors love to shove down our throats that ruins it to me.
Anyway, I’m babbling too much. In short: it’s good enough, but I feel like this plot had so much wasted potential… Maybe the upcoming side stories will turn the situation around, but I have low expectations. That’s all.
