I thought it was different even while keeping some stereotypes and tropes within the GL and F/F romance genre. Claire Clayton has to be one of my favorite characters Ratana Satis has written so far. She is losing her mind because she already lost her memory and then slowly pieces together what actually happened before losing her memory, all the happy times she had with Thea, all sad times at having to play the spy to Thea, Thea knowing she was a spy and still choosing her over Sheryl. Knowing Sheryl was jealous and not who she truly loved. Then going on the run and trying to get her memory back, and then having to deal with Sheryl's jealousy at not being with Thea alone. She didn't like having to share who she thought was hers alone. Understandable, Thea is attractive.
She really has a way with getting you a bit emotional before the happy ending. This one took a little longer to get going, but once it did, it was really beautifully told.
This would be better in an animated film or show space than live-action.
