As You Wish (Seoho)

Complete | Xian,Seoho | 2000 released

i think this story had a lot of potential, especially up to like chapter 25. this ending is definetly forced- when a creator is tired of a project and fore-gos it to end it quickly. it's heart-breaking to see what was once an inspired work be abandoned of substance like this. when the main character said he was a little scared of his love interest that seemed like foreshadowing, as did the original killer in the main characters original timeline killing women who looked like the love interests mother. the story was leading up to the love interest being the original murderer, but suddenly it changed like this? the main character is from the past and came back through fantastical means to be with his partner and yet this is not yet acknowledged by said partner. what happened to the cure for lung disease they were making? they had passed some trials with it but it was not yet finished. what about the love interest inheriting the company- did that happen in this timeline as well? what progress was made towards it? if i could rewrite this story i would go before either of the killers were revealed. i would have the love interests freak ass cousin be the brown haired dude axe murderer. It would make sense since his sick obsession with the love interest would cause an unmeasurable amount of jealousy seeing love interest express so much interest in someone else. obviously i would have made love interest the initial murderer since all the evidence pointed to it. god this guy legit came out of nowhere and it pisses me off so much. like the concept of red herrings exists but this is probably the worst excecution of that trope ever. (a red herring is when the story purposely misleads you) a red herring is properly excecuted by leading the audience with story ques and subtext to believe one thing, while background clues and facts actually point to another. its meant to surprise the audience but its at the same time meant to give you the feeling of like 'i can see it in retrospect', because with the information you have at the end applied to the information u gained from the beginning it makes sense. the trope works best when both the decoy and the real whatever are equally prominent in the story, even if its in different ways. im really just going off on another tangent for my own fun but basically this story is shit
