It's even more hilarious that the uke is an assault and rape survivor and yet he is not phased by the seme raping him repeatedly - almost every sex scene is non-consensual I mean wtf - and we are only reminded of his trauma when Yoshimi tries to cut his hair against his will, out of all the awful things he does to him. Yoshimi is a fucking teenager of 16, spoiled and brattish and incredibly annoying, and we are told in the very last panels that he grows up to be the best man *rofl lmao gtfo*. Like, that sounds fake, but ok. Everyone is doing glamorous poses and is sexy and alluring and there's a love triangle out of which Masahiro picks out the wrong corner (Akito is much, much less of a diva and has the advantage of never forcing himself on Masahiro, like he literally stops kissing him when he realises he is not exactly wanted - Masahiro is fine with him, but not in love - and that makes him top man in this story, the bar is on the ground anyway).
This is a terrible story, with a terrible couple and I cannot believe MM got 4 volumes out of this. I mean, it's definitely on brand with what we know of yaoi to be more than a decade ago, but still. There are much better stories out there now, thank the lord.
