7S Definitely interesting because it explores all the prejudices and anxieties that may come with a poly relationship. Ria is fearless and knows this is what she wants (though the tragedy in her childhood may have something to do with this - her parents were going through a divorce and decided to commit suicide as a family by driving their car off a cliff with their daughter inside and only Ria surivived). Emito has self-esteem issues related to his social skills (and sex skills as well) though he is cheerful and enthusiastic, while Suisei is the most level-headed and most anxious at the same time, feeling he has to sacrifice a part of himself to keep being with Ria and he can never get used to seeing her in Emito's arms. They take turns having sex with her and, though bonded by a deep friendship, there's no sexual attraction between the men. Which I'm all waiting for. There's no emphasis on smut, this is more of a social commentary. One thing that needs to be said is that I'm not a huge fan of the art style, it's got that '90s rounded look. Vol. 1 ends in a cliffhanger and I'm really looking forward to the second. Edit: Vol. 2 gives us more background and frankly more reasons for this relationship to look like a coping mechanism. Emito has a toxic mother who gives him to his father's boss as a child to exploit sexually and does it again when he's an adult as well, trying to break him away from his polycule. Emito is also in love with Suisei, though he doesn't realise it himself and they finally have sex together all three of them, which Suisei is not thrilled about. This relationship is not exactly healthy and seems to exist and thrive on being a statement against the world, I really can't wait for the 3rd volume. Edit: The final volume brings all the drama, a surprise coma (months long) for Emito, enough to miss out on Lia's pregnancy and the birth of their family's daughter, and a very much unexplained crossdresser Emito in the final panels. He admits to annoying 3some guy I don't remember the name of that he was always picturing himself as Lia in Suisei's arms and then you gotta wonder what was he doing having all that sex with her?!? This manga essentially shows very damaged people trying to find their way in life and using each other as crutches and if having a child solves all of their problems, dear goodness me, what a traditional plot twist there, isn't it? I don't think this is a buy, 2 thirds of that polycule is made up of really annoying people and then Emito decides to lose his way, too.
