The writing is just not good at all. It's a huge shame because I really really liked the design of the main character and I think this setting/plot can be really good and enjoyable if the characters are done right. The cover is stunning, but as it stands I feel like the visual appeal of the omega (he's very cute&pretty indeed) is the only saving grace the manga has. There isn't any proper plot, the progression of everything feels far too rushed and therefore doesn't have emotional impact. The key element of this story, the characters, aren't good either, honestly there barely is any real substance to either one
The crossdressing host/escort job Nanao has has a lot of very unrealistic bits, for example 0 awareness or safety concerns from Nanao (who's supposed to be a veteran) or from the place/coworker themselves . A client just dragged him IN HEAT outside with him and they???? let him do it???? After he was nearly raped IN THE STORE. It's the second time that client comes, no rapport with anyone, and last time Nanao was quite unpleasant towards him (he deserved it he was being a dick); it's clearly the kind of situation where you DON'T let your vulnerable employee be taken away by an unknown man to fuck knows where.
Nanao himself has a very inconsistent characterization, and it doesn't come across as being just him showing multifacetedness or having a gap moe. Initially he's presented as this cool, calm, mildly cruel and domeneering guy, who takes pride in what he can do and likes humiliating assholes. Then he acts like a lost young teen boy for most of the story, showing very little maturity and absolutely none of the expertise and strong character he's supposed to have from his time working at a likely demanding sex work adjacent job. Why he can't "work normally like the alphas" isn't really explored either, is it just implied that every single omega is either provided for by their marriage partner or works in similar jobs?
The alpha character is more of a plot device in my opinion, barely has any personality. He's an empty perfect prince, except that (for me) he completely fails at this because his behaviour is downright disturbing. We may know he's not going to hurt the main character, but to anyone within the manga he'd seem an utterly deranged stalker-like guy. His actions raise more red flags than a communist parade, yet they're treated as him being thoughtful, kind or straight laced; no, someone staying at your job's 'employee only' door for a week waiting to talk to you is NOT cool at all (especially if you work in the nightlife hello?????), and even less when it's staying outside your house's door "until you open it for me", that's a 'call the police immediately' situation
If we saw the characters actually falling in love or going on dates and getting to know each other, maybe it would seem a tad less obsessive and out of the blue. As it stands, even with all that unwavering intensity he still feels entirely void of any personality, which is almost impressive ngl
