Absolutely Ruined Love

Complete | Suma | 2000 released

I'll make it short by saying; the writing is great, the art amazing, the amount of smut just right, the story perfect (especially the ending) despite it being such a rollercoaster and the characters are all likable in their own way. And I really adore the fact the author put in effort into depicting a mental illness in a realistic way yet making it work in this piece of fiction and giving it some additional factors that make it enhance the story and reading experience. Well done! DEFINITELY worth reading. It may not start off with either of the 'two semes' being likable, but they really grew on my as time went on and as their behavior got explained. Still waiting for an extra chapter tho in which our MC beats the shit outta seme's father tho. THAT would make this absolutely perfect. Or at least gimme a non-canon panel. That would be enough for me already. <3 Definitely a great read for those that appreciate good writing for mature audiences and don't just look for jackoff material with a silly, idealized story that borders fantasy. Also, a good read for people who appreciate realistic depictions of mental illness. Give it a try and let it simmer before you drop it in case the two love interests are not your thing. Even just the basic storyline is interesting and well written enough to read till the end.

(THIS IS A REVIEW, so spoiler-ish things are mentioned.) This was almost entirely perfect. The character personalities, their rhyme and reason and the way they overcame their problems was very well done. Tho I wish they would have put more into the love interest's trauma with the scumbag brother, that came a little too short for my taste considering his shocked reaction was quite heavy but the mending of his wounds was done within a flash. That could have been done a tiny bit better tbh. Same with the therapy aspect of things. I think it would have been better to include a silent panel here and there to show he infact kept going to therapy. That would have been a really important but tiny detail for this story that gave it more realism. The approach at each others mental problems was very well done tho. There was realistic reason to it all and results of the trauma being recieved. We get too many authors cranking it to 11 just to make it more dramatic, but that is NOT needed if you know what real trama can be like. Big big praise on that front! The ending was absolutely sweet tho. The MC seeing the flashing of faces of people he can indeed trust because he knows them to be kind was such a lovely detail, I loved that. <3 I know some people might not like the no-bonking aspect, but I find this story is too much on the sweet side for it anyway, so it doesn't really need it in my eyes. It's an emotional driven story to begin with, so the horny doesn't need to be satisfied. One might say. X'D The art is lovely, the story grand and realistic and the few flaws I can find are minor enough to still let me say this is worthy of the Perfect tag for me. I would VERY much recommend this to anyone that likes a realistic story, based on realistic trauma and behavior and something that is more focused on telling a story than the romance. Younger, less experienced readers might find this boring but I'm not really gonna go there and state why this is content they SHOULD read to develope their standards. XD To each their own. 10 outta 10, will read again~

MID SPOILER WARNING because itherwise it makes no sense. I'll be honest: The drama aspect was NOT done as well as it could have been. Somehow it lacked emotional impact and was written somewhat strangely so I didn't know whether or not the MC was right or not. And the reveal of Haru pretending was feeling random because of it. If however the author had included chapter 5.5 IN THE STORY at any point prior, this could have worked SO very beautifully. Would have been a real tear-jerker moment in the end with MC misunderstanding and then talking to haru in the park. It's really disappointing the author included this crucial information about Haru's mental state/true feelings as an extra, which is usually ignored or just treated as not relevant to the actual story. That was simply a bad choice. In a way I also think this might have been a bit aimless in writing, maybe that's why the crucial info was added at the end, kind of like a sidenote I personally make in notebooks "include this and that over here so the reader know this was going on". That's what it felt like, a rough draft point being overlooked or someone finishing a story and then thinking: Oh, THIS would have made that moment better, let me add that real quick! The writing overall is really great but this little mistake turned out to be what made the story loose points in terms of writing. Which is a shame since, if you rearrange the extra chapter INTO the story in your mind afterwards, it would be really impressive. :') I still recommend it, but would suggest treating the extra as an inbetween shortly before ch. 5 so it makes the story more impactful.
