It is warm and fuzzy if you read it the way I did. Users are people too. The teacher's "teacher-caring" is replaced slowly by "romantic-caring". It goes from little things like giving the coat (feeling guilty and obligated by age difference), to recognizing that the student sets a better romantic example than the ex-girlfriends (being thoughtful instead of just feeling guilty, and setting the student on more of an equal playing field with the adults). If you didn't like it only because you were mad at the teacher, read it again. Also I almost never see water sports and it's not like the student drank it so LOL.
