Sheep's Mask
Was lured by the cover, but honestly this isn't half bad. From a horror perspective, it nails the suspense. Reading it feels as claustrophobic as being confined in that room. The violence, sexual or otherwise, is raw and grotesque. This is a horror revenge story that doesn't try to sugarcoat anything. Thank fuck for no Stockholm syndrome BS. I still don't understand why he picked that one guy among many. If this is trying to convey that being an enabler and facilitating abuse is worse than being actively abusive then I don't agree. The art is a bit inconsistent and it's hard to tell characters from the backstory apart. Sergeant dude also looks different every few chapters; his hair goes from brown to reddish to black. His only identifying feature is his brow slit. I also wish sheep's face was never revealed, would've definitely intensified the creep factor. Could've benefited from a better translation. Decent enough but please don't read if you're sensitive to kidnapping, confinement, rape, violence, blood, naked men in animal head masks, military abuse, etc etc: 3/5. (2022).
Heartless
Was not expecting how good this was going to be, but my god were the comments awful. Barring a few exceptions, most comments were the most brain-dead, brain-rotting, brain-cell-killing shit I've ever read. I read for other people's insights (and there were insightful comments) but what I found was people spouting hateful ableist rhetoric, people complaining they couldn't masturbate to this, people coming up with the most whack ideas. I hate it here. (2017-19).
