Thought On Omegaverse

Wasn't it because it's based on a bullshit study on wolfpack dynamics? (That was then applied to werewolves and shit? And later trickled down into the crazed minds of fanfickers who were already influenced by weird Star Trek horniness? lol). Omegaverse as an allegory for patriarchy wasn't a factor in it's creation, I think, it was primarly a "ooo......   reply

Alphas are usually portrayed as physically stronger, more intelligent, and naturally dominant. History often favours the strong, so it makes sense that alphas could have suppressed the other groups by force. Over time, society would then build its culture around this imbalance, reinforcing it subconsciously (Much like in our own world, where men hi......   reply

Bc first of all betas are the "average", they don't have debilitating traits but they dont have top tier traits either. That being said, alphas are on top bc the same reason men are on top: they consider themselves to be above omegas and not unstable at all, even if theyre unstable "is not their fault, is the omega's" (sounds familiar?) You can qui......   reply

The reasons alphas are on top is simply because they have the position of 'top' (even when it comes to sex, people kind of look down on those who are bottoms because it's seen as submissive) additionally, according to omegaverse rules, alphas have the best genetics and are supposed to be naturally smarter and good looking. Betas are supposed to be ......   reply

How are alphas praised and omegas discriminated against when they both go into heat/rut, both are equally unstable. I know it is a representation of patriarchy. But I think it would have made more sense if betas were at the top of the society and both alphas and omegas were treated like animals. Because betas are imune to pheromones and they are stable mentally and physically. What are y'alls opinion on this or just tell me any opinion of yours on omegaverse?

(This was just a shower thought y'all. I know omegaverse would have been boring without the alpha omega bs. Was just looking to waste my time)

i personally really like it and think its a fascinating trope... when done right. It's kinda portrayed as the patriarchal system in a sense, alphas are the "men," and thus they're very strong and naturally successful, omegas are the complete opposite. betas exist just to fill the void since both are quite rare secondary "genotype(?)." 9/10 it's g......   1 reply

I personally love omegaverse. I remember the first omegaverse BL to come out it was very original, it was a new thing... And it opened doors to new possibilities in writing. It was a new formula that we hadn't seen before. Also, more and more authors have stopped explaining their systems and I guess now people don't really need it since there are......   2 reply

Has anyone noticed the huge influx of omegaverse lately? I swear more often than not I’ll click on something and although the premise sounds interesting the alpha and omega thing just throws me off. Like don’t get me wrong I can enjoy a good omegaverse now and again but what does any of these stories have to do with the omegaverse?! Sometimes I......   1 reply
