u shouldn't really pierce with a gun... a gun can be very agressive and damaging, I got my first nose piercing with a gun and it didn't go well.. when I got it repierced with a needle along with my cartilage I noticed a big diffrence with the healing and scarring.   3 reply

I have mine on the cartilage and was pierced by a gun. I just got it last month and so far nothing bad is going on. It also doesnt hurt when i press it kinda lightly so i think it is healing pretty well. The woman just said after i got it done is that apply baby oil to it   reply

Using a piercing gun takes a lot longer to heal because there is more tissue trauma. There is tearing and ripping as the piercing stud is forced through. A properly licensed professional will use a special type of needle instead that cuts as it pushes through reducing tissue trauma. Piercing guns also have small parts that are nearly impossible to ......   1 reply

I wouldn't recommend using a gun for piercings. Most professional piercers wouldn't use a gun either especially for cartilage. The process of using a needle to do a piercing in an area of the body other than the ear lobe is much safer and less painful than using a piercing gun. The needle is hollow and has a sharp point to create a clean hole. Sin......   reply

Really depends what part of your body you're piercing, and where you get it done. I pierced my ear myself, and it didn't really hurt, but it did sting for a bit afterwards. I got my lip pierced professionally & they used some kind of spray, it numbed my whole lip, so i didn't feel anything at all. But there was some discomfort for the next 2 or so ......   1 reply

I only have my ears pierced. I used to have three holes (one each on my earlobes and one on the flat of my upper ear). I let the hole on my upper ear close up, because I didn't want it anymore. All three were done with a gun. In my experience, once the piercing is shot into your ear, it doesn't hurt at first. The pain comes later in the form of a l......   reply

If you can get your ears pierced by a professional with a piercing needle. It’s more expensive but much less likely to have problems afterwards. A piercing gun is much more traumatizing for the war bc it’s smashing and brushing the ear. They put a piercing stud in the gun to do the piercing and even though it’s pointy it unlike a piercing nee......   reply

I’ve heard some rough stories about using a gun for most piercings. The gun hurts worse than a needle and there are a LOT of risks compared to paying a little extra to have a piercer do it for you with a needle. Just do your research and enjoy!   reply
