then don't read them and come back when you miss them. if you want to play video games then play video games if you want to watch shorts then watch YouTube shorts. don't force yourself into doing stuff that you don't feel like doing because you won't enjoy it, when I have a BL/GL burnout I stop reading and then come back after 3 days or 4 days brea......   1 reply

I've been reading manga for 4.5 years now and in the past few weeks I've been losing the interest and motivation to read.
I've started with BL manhwa like a lot of us, and slowly I moved towards seinen and psychological manga.
It's not like I don't want to read, I really do actually, there's so much stuff I'm interested in reading but I feel really burned out. I've gotten back to video games, but mainly I mindlessly scroll YouTube shorts and rot in bed.

Maybe if someone has a of a manga that would bring back the spark of reading manga back to me, I'll get out of this state of burnout

Sht gets overused and genres become oversaturated. Especially after reading the rlly good ones that make you feel empty afterwards and almost nothing else can top them... yeah other mangas/manhwas from then on become boring. Look at the villainess genre that was popularized in 2020. The good and memorable ones that I can think was created around ......   1 reply

IMO, I'd argue it's the timeline. Like how long is "old"? Maybe 20 years+? That's 20 years worth of "old" stuff, whereas "new" stuff only has maybe 3-4 years... So, you think old stuff is better, but in reality it's probably roughly the same it's just that the volume is different due to the length of time.
