First, my personal opinion is that people need privacy at a certain age and if your parents have the means to provide it but won't, for whatever reason, it's a problem. Uhhh, honestly, I kinda feel like you need to talk about it to your stepfather. The older you get, the more privacy you want, and that is totally fair, so I feel like it's pretty wrong of your stepfather to deny you that, but at the same time, I think it's necessary to understand what he means by not being ''responsible'' in this situation. He should still give you a lock. I don't understand what your dad means by "responsiblity". Ask him if he trusts you or not. If he answers like no or says something like this,"Of course I trust you, but i want you to be responsible." those answers equivalent to, lol no i no trusty you.   1 reply
