Disturbing Thing You Saw

I've always been wondering, for the many novels,mangas,manhwas, and manhuas that I've seen. There's always this scenario that I don't understand and makes me dumbfounded, "Characters feeding unconscious people mouth-to-mouth". Whether it be food or medicine there is always this scenario, I mean does it do even anything to help? It's the same thing if you use your hand, it's not like they use their mouth to make the other person swallow. I mean to make them swallow in the first place is by pinching nose and mouth shut then massage the throat. It doesn't do anything when you use mouth to mouth, even the murim ones with qi medicines which are supposed to melt instantly and doesn't need chewing they do this dumb shit.

I feel like they're just taking advantage of the other person unconscious. I've never seen a proper way to administer medicine to an unconscious person even today in what I've read
