yes. it's actually the only reason I'm alive. so there are a couple aspects to this.
1) you have to find the modality that works for you (CBT, DBT, EMDR, etc)
2) if you don't find a therapist that you trust or works with you in a way that challenges you. FIND ANOTHER THERAPIST! (I tried 7 different therapists before I found one that worked for me)...... reply

A tiny bit of advice for anyone interested: Don't be afraid to switch therapist. Fire your therapist for any reason. It's important that you talk to one you feel comfortable with. yeah there's also shitloads of kinds of therapy and therapists so even if one therapy/therapist doesn't work for you, there's 100% going to be another kind that actually does. you can do your own research too to see what you're interested in trying / what has been shown to work best for whatever issue you're worried about. therapists usually write ...... reply
Ye, i think so. At the very least it just feels nice having one person to talk to who has no effect on my reputation and whose opinion basically doesn’t matter if that makes sense??
