Thinking About Death Everyday

in my institution, 2 guys had a fight and one of them threw the other's glasses into the sewage. The parents of the guy with the glasses went berserk on the parents of the other guy and the guy himself too.

When i told my father about it, his response was- "That was unfortunate, ofc he shouldn't have done that. If that happened with you tho (i do wear glasses), we wouldn't go. We wouldn't argue like savages. That is very not classy. We would just tell you to keep your distance from that guy. You would also have discovered his true colours."

Wow. Awesome. i don't even know what to say. Am i overreacting? are they wrong?? I would DEFINITELY go and fight like savages if that happened to my kids.
