Highly recommend you get professional help like immediately but if you are for some reason not in the position to do that try thinking of those thoughts as not your own, say it out loud as many times as you can that these are not my thoughts I don't want to hurt myself. as the others said getting help asap is very important especially if you have ever acted out on those thoughts even if not to the extreme level of your fantasies. The longer you wait the harder it will be to treat especially if you end up with negative life experiences and you transition into actually self-harming. Isn't this intrusive thoughts, i sometimes get them, thoughts of self harm, never acted on it. So maybe it's alright. But definitely seek medical help if it's too much. Usually calming or shutting your mind off helps, this would be by keeping yourself busy or listening to white noises.   reply
