meta-awareness in a straightforward sense. i love random fourth-wall breaks or sudden bouts of consciousness but when it's just too much sometimes it's just too much. like what op said about lampshading, too. like by a certain point it's just distracting to the audience's immersion.   1 reply

Pearl Boy....I loved the art so much and really wanted to enjoy it but jfc there's so much rape. The gang rape chapters were so sickening and horrible. And I've been a BL fangirl a long time so rape scenes aren't new to me but holy fuck Pearl Boy was just way too graphic and just downright depressing. i see some of manhwa and manga that i dropped already mentioned in this list, but I'll add some more~ 1) eleceed - i just can't anymore. Reasons I dropped them: Warning lots of annoying ("blank")'s below 1. isekai harem and harem, protags like literally there is no context except 'he's nice, so i'll throw myself at him' 2. also the protag having always horny as his personality trait. 2. reverse historical harem protags : 2a. smart, beautiful, and clearly capable fmc throws it awa......   reply
