Forgetting Something

Wholeheartedly agree, like if you cut yourself, go see a therapist or try venting to someone who can take it, don’t just start trauma dumping on social media where there might be people who just stopped cutting themselves etc cause you will/most likely bring back their traumatic experience. Its been years since my parents have last laid a hand on me but the effects still stand and one of the worst things a person can do to me now is raise their voice at me. There is a line between discipline and abuse, what you went through sadly was abuse. In my house my mom made a rule that if she talks to you two times on the third one try and get someone else to help (in this case my granny) and if I still don't listen then Ill get a whoopin (true definition is usually getting beat with a belt on the bottom). i didn't know either, i thought hitting a child is a way to let the kids "feel" the consequences of their actions if they don't listen to their parents multiple times, because that's what my parents used to tell me. the "i was hit as a kid but i turned out fine" shouldn't be an excuse to physically hurt a child, i hope this cycle of abuse stops soo......   reply
