LGBTQ+ Awareness in the BL community

I've heard quite a few of my friends say that BL is nothing but people who like gay men and hacertified no awareness of LGBT+. However all of them were not part of the community. And most of the people I've met in the community are very aware of it. Is it jusT my delusion? I wanna know if yall are just here for gay or if you have a bit more awareness. I really hope it's the latter.

i'm here for romance and good art ╮(￣▽￣)╭ (also for an escape but that's beside the point) of course, there are people who are like that in the community, but there are also people like that outside of the community. we can't stop people from choosing to be bigoted, unfortunately reply
