Normalizing toxic tropes
so i kind of need to vent jdjdjd. i just read chapter 333 from 19 days and i followed the manhua for years now so i know how he tian’s and mo their relationship is and how you can call mo a tsundere i guess. but what’s been bugging me about this chapter is how he tian kissed mo and you can kind of see that mo is like taken a back, in a defensive stance almost you know.
and all the comments are about how cute it is. and like hearts etc.
but i also read toilet bound hanako-kun. and in the lates chapter of tbhk something happens with akane and aoi, they didn’t even kiss it was just more of a confessions and not just about their romantic feelings but how theyve felt for each other since their childhood. and aoi touched akane’s hair and kissed het hand bla bla bla. but the fans on twitter were so quick to cancel the manga and call it sexual assault and that the mangaka shouldn’t have done that.
and it made me realise how fujoshi’s tend to look over those “red flags” just because their ship kissed each other. even if it was without consent. and if been reading yaoi manga’s for like... 4 years now or something and there are people now that do call those tropes our or tw it but it’s still so normalized in yaoi’s for there to be either no consent or just the romanticising of rape... i just needed to vent about that jdjdjd.

Yea, I've been noticing this for awhile now. I usually avoid yaoi that have those tropes, it just grosses me out. In some yaoi they even make it out to be a "joke" and that's just disgusting.
Another toxic trope is the overly possessive seme, they never let the uke talk to others and even "punish" them for defying them smh. I absolutely hate those, it's clearly an unhealthy relationship but I never see any fujoshis bring it up. Yaoi really normalizes unhealthy relationships, it's a struggle to find one that doesn't have those dynamics.
